Hotmail on the iTouch

I now use http://mobile.live.com to access Hotmail from my iTouch. I works very well and I can quickly see if I have anything important to deal with when I'm at work where my PC internet browsing is severely restricted these days.

Practical Web Uses

I find that I can surf in the evening whilst watching tv. I think I get away with much more than when I used my laptop - it is somehow more acceptable to my better half. Anyway this morning I wanted to book my car into service and was really pleased that I could arrange at peugeot.co.uk all from my iTouch.

Hotmail from iTouch

Have Microsoft purposely broken the log in for iTouch users. It was working great but Microsoft recently 'upgraded' my Hotmail to the Live ID which is certainly very pretty and modern looking but I now seem to be unable to login from the iTouch. Has anyone else had this? UPDATE: I logged on with my computer and changed to use the Full Version of Hotmail. And now when use the iTouch to access Hotmail it lets me in but just warns I should get IE6! UPDATE2: When this stopped working I just went into the browser settings and cleared out my cookies and it logs into Hotmail ok - sorry for doubting you Microsoft!

Connect iTouch to a 3g Phone

Looks like you can hack an iTouch into a 3g phone but you need Windows Mobile on the phone http://www.pyrofersprojects.com/3gipod/3gipod.html

Web Sites That Work...

Hotmail and Yahoo Mail web sites work well. Lycos Email doesn't scale or allow you to compose message properly. Blogger.com works well but adding posts you need to use the html tab. I like to add Posts using an email which can be setup in the Blogger options. Obviously you can't cut and paste with iTouch so certain things like custom html or colour settings need to be done on a computer. One odd thing I've noticed is that graphics in Gif format are displayed as a small box in the browser - not sure why?

Is 16gb Enough Storage Space on an iPod

The answer is - it depends of what you want to do and how you want to do it. I believe 16gb is enough. Most people's music collection consists of a core of albums they really like and play a lot. But they also have albums they are trying out or rarely listen to. Also iTunes makes it so easy add and remove music from your iPod even if your collection is massive you can easily mix things up. Personally I didn't buy one to play movies on but you would be able to fit more on it than on a PS2 portable but it's no Archeos. For me the best use after music is the excellent web browser hooked up to wireless broadband while watching tv. The uTube viewer is also great.
